:|I am torn between buying the Casio S100 or S500 and would like to hear from any users if the S500 is worth double the price of theS100

I will be using the camera for mainly daytime snapshots to be viewed on my PC or PDA, with occasional prints to 5x7", as I currently have a Panasonic FZ1 for long range and nature shots but would like something a lot smaller !!!!

Will I notice much difference with the reduced number of pixels on the S100 and how do you rate either of these cameras - do they have any glaringly obviuos problems or faults ?

Which would you buy in my situation - the best prices I have in the UK are £129 for the S100 or £249 for the S500

Kay, as you already know, the major difference between the S100 and S500 is the resolution, 3.2 MP and 5MP. One thing to consider, depending on your needs and photography style, is that the S500 has an AF assist lamp. If you take night shots, it will be a plus. On the other hand, the S100 has the business shot, which was omitted on the S500. I believe that the S500 has a continuous shot mode also and it has a better picture. They also have different optics and movie format.
If you are not fussy about picture quality, the price is over $100.
00 difference.
