I'm looking for a camera with good quality pictures and some manual controls.

I know that Z120 have many features but Sony's W5 images seems to be sharper (and it is getting quite cheap cause W30 and w50 announce.)

Here in Brazil the price are:

Casio EX-Z120: R$ 700 ~ 325 USD ~ 187,7 pounds

Sony DSC-W5: R$ 580 ~ 270 USD ~ 155,5 pounds

Almost 55 dolars of difference!!!

I would be glad to see some opinions before my acquisition.

If you're worried about price I'm sure you can get the z120 for cheaper than that. I was able to buy it in Canada for 250 CDN ~217 USD. And according to cnet, you can get one for 250 USD at Dell. Anyway, I've had this camera for about two months now and I'm VERY happy with it. I find the picture quality alright although I can't compare to the sony since I don't have any experience with it. Although I have a friend with a sony T1, and I know it's a different camera but I was not impressed with picture quality on that.

Anyway, I can only recomment the z120 to any potential buyers, I don't have any problems with it and you have A LOT of control with it compared to other compacts.

EDIT: oops sorry I didn't realize you were in brazil, I'm not sure about pricing there or if you have any option to import you could look into that.
