my ex-s3 wont flash anymore. this means i have to throw away the camera and get a new one, or attempt to fix it myself cause as of now it's basically worthless. so i really have nothing to lose by taking it apart, but its extrememly small and i'd like all you awesome folk's advice on the matter. i see some screws i can attack, but once i open it up i have no idea what to expect. anyone know if i can take out the bulb and replace it somehow? what else should i try?

i called casio and they want, cough cough, 150 bucks to fix it....yeah, thats more than half of a new s600 (but the s600 is thicker, and i love how thin the s3 is) which is ridiculous considering anything else can break at any time and theres dust in the lcd, etc.

Go for it. you've got nothign to lose. very educational.

flash system will have a large capacitor, xenon bulb, and electronics. be careful not to touch the capacitor, give you a nasty shock!

broken xenon bulb: salvage one from a disposable cam

good luck
