The dewberry and blackberry vines are blossoming now and this one was a good subject to try out the close focusing ability of the D40 kit lens (and for me to try not blow out the highlights too much.)

Guess there must be artifical lighting from the side to enhance the contrast. The white came out naturally and the whole ensemble was natural and appealing to the eyes.

Thanks for commenting, wk7leung. Although I popped a few with flash I don't think this one was. The sunlight through trees provided a nice side light.
