A visit today to a local botanical garden revealed a fairly rare sight, a caladium in bloom. A gardener visiting the gardens the same time as my wife and I told us she had never seen one in many years of gardening.

Caladiums (caladia?) are the large-leafed plants grown as shade ornamentals and come in many colorful varieties.
