Maybe the best of the Monarch trial photos - not a part of the lens "camparison series' posted earlier, as it doesn't fit the criteria used. Minolta 7D with Minolta 70-210 f4, fill flash. I think I will keep the lens!

If we looked at lines per inch of caterpillar the numbers wouldn't be in favor, but no doubt the lines per inch resolution of your new lens is just fine and definitely a keeper.

One thing I didn't mention - note the notch in the petiole of the leaf. The caterpillar does that before it crawls onto the leaf so it will drop down under its weight, and the caterpillar can hide behind it while it hangs upside down and eats the leaf from the end.
