Hi there,

my wife brought another Gerbera flower yesterday and again I liked the color very much. I placed them on a table and they were lit by both sunlight and artifical light so I had to choose for one WB... and I went for the indoor setting - which again produced those strong colors. Anyway - here we go, have fun!

#1 - closeup

#2 - the whole thing

#3 - and from another side

Personally I like #1 and #3 the most, I added #2 so you can see the whole flower pot.

I really think of using that lighting situation on other subjects as it produces those strong and vibrant colors - did anyone else tried this?

Regards,
Th.

Hey, thanks!

Well - I think it also has something to do with the lense that it came out that colorful, will check that in the near future...

I am really surprised by those colors, but in #2 you can see the white flower pot thus the "white" part is ok. In the background you can see an orange chair and the color of the cover fabric is ok for being in the shadow and also the color of the wood is ok. So in #1 the green of the leafes looks a tad too saturated compared with #2 but then the changing sunlight produced different lighting situations every seconds so I didn't corrected that but used the same settings as in #2 and #3.

Regards,
Th.

Test with another lense. I used a Pentax-K 135/2.5 and custom WB on white porcellain. And this is only one light source - artificial light. It looks like this:

Colors are spot on, the table cloth colors are really (almost) 1:1 and so on. So far I think the Kiron might produce slightly more saturated pictures, but the strong, vibrant colors are definitely there and everything else really might come from the mix of sunlight and artificial light.

Th.
