Default Canon 250D closeup lens

Hi there,

I'm thinking of getting two Canon 250D closeup lenses for my olympus C700 and am just wondering if anyone on these forums have used a similar combination with good results?

What would stacking two of these together do (quality wise?).

Also, my camera has 55mm threads. Should I get the 53 or the 58mm lens? Or wouldn't it matter?

Thanks for any replies
Paul

Paul,

go should post this on the 'add-on lens' thread for more responses. That said, I have the 500D macro (just got it on Friday) and I've been happy so far. I really need to test it on a tripod though and get a better subject that small flowers to see the edge to edge quality.

You'll want to get the 58mm lens to avoid vignetting (cutting off the edges), you'll need a step up ring too.

Based on my thinking (see my post in the EOS Lenses thread) the add on macro filters should be fine. Because the sensors are smaller than 35mm, a lot of the (justified) criticism isn't an issue on digicams.

Don't stack them, what the lens is doing is allowing you to focus closer to the subject. If you want to stack lenses get the third party (kenko, tiffen etc.) single optic lenses. The 250D has two pieces of glass in it.
