I just got a 500mm mirror lens for my Nikon. It costs $159 and is really quite a find. This is as close as I can get but the distance isquite good too.

Interesting how the only part of the picture that is in focus is the area behind the eye glasses. You would think that the lenses in the glasses would make that area out of focus. BTW $159.00 for a 500mm lens that shoots that sharp is a good deal.

You need to post some distance shots taken with both lenses. Also tell us what brand is the lens.

Well, not so strange when you consider that the if the glasses were for reading (i.e. +ve dioptre), then they're acting just like a close-up lens and enabling the eyes to be in focus, whereas if she hadn't been wearing the glasses, the eyes would be out of focus.

Also note the doughnut highlights (fingerprint of using a mirror lens)

BTW was the $159 for new, or used (eBay etc)??
