Default The universe is...

...in your coffee cup.

(Pentax DL2, ISO1600, 1/80s, F11, Vivitar 90mm macro lens, no crop - just resized)

Hey all,
I was sitting in the garden today when I noticed the strong colors here. I tried with different angles and in broad daylight, but under my pavilon - where I saw it first - it seemed to be the best. Lighting conditions were not really great for a closeup/macro shot, so I cranked up ISO and tried my luck. This is one of the better images I got and I wanted to share that surprising view (at least for me it was surprising how many different patterns the bubbles show etc.) with you.

What do you think?

I am also unsure about cropping here... leave it that way or not?

#2 - this is just another angle, I was sitting on the bench with the sun coming from kind of a backlight position (maybe 2 o'clock in terms of that image to say so). The different angle and lighting made for a drastic change in color and saturation, and that was what I experienced when I carried the cup around and looked at the little bubbles. Try it on your own and you'll see, that your coffee is almost like a chameleon

Have a nice weekend!

Kind regards,
Th.

Why not? Coffee (even the roasted one) contains fat, around 8-15% afaik. Most of it will be in the coffee dregs, though. So technically there's nothing wrong with my coffee

As for the cropping... aye... as I said I have a hard time to even decide on cropping or not - thanks for the suggestion.

2nd pic is my favourite, too, btw.

regards,
Th.

Interesting images, and an apt title, too, but it remind me more of a spider looking at me with all of its multiple eyes.

Sometimes it is better not to look too closely
