I have allot of lenses for my canons, mostly prime, only 4 zooms. I have the ef 28 1.8, 50 1.5, 85 1.8, 100 2.8 macro, 28-130 and 70-300. And they are all USM lenses, and focus very fast. So I understand they liking of the HSM on the sigma. And they all focus faster then the 2 kit lenses.

I did notice the tamron zoom the other direction. But I like that it had a bit more reach. And was pretty sharp at 270mm for a megzoom.

I guess in the end its a matter of personal taste... I'd go to a store and check them both out, then you'll see what you like

Next wednesday we fly to the US and it will be nice that I don't have to change lenses all the time
