Default Focus issue

It looks like the background is in focus which could mean you simply missed the insect with the focus point. Very nice shots BTW.

Very nice indeed, Honnes!
I find shooting macro shots hand held is rather difficult at best. My keepers can range from 1 in 3 all the way to 1 in 50, depending on the situation.
Simon did an excellent job bringing out the detail of your shots. I've been using Neat Image as my plug in for PS4 and it works nicely too.
Keep up the good work!
BTW, its not a wasp either, its called a mimic fly.
here's a slightly different one I got a couple years ago in the backyard.
Not one of my better shots but, I was very new this addictive hobby!

Well, I found this one too, not any better but, a little different view.

I figured the insects name out earlier haha, I"m so bad lol, but the shot didn't get any worse because of it hehe.

I guess your right that my shot got OOF because of the background, but luckily the fly didn't go away. I like your shots btw

LOL, You're right, what you call it doesn't make the photo any better or worse!
Glad you like mine too, I was sure I had some better shots but, I can't find them.
They were probably part of my collection that got stolen last November.

Although it's off-topic, how on earth could that happen? And did you only lose the shots, or the camera as well ?

Sorry to take so long to answer back, Honnes.
I usually get here once or twice a week at the most.
Last November, I came home from work to find my front door kicked in. To make a long story short, a couple kids broke in and made off with a bunch of my wife's and my belongings including my computer with all my photos from the past 2 years. they even got most of my back up disk too. They didn't get my camera because I had it with me but, they took my wife's. After they got what they wanted they took the GatorAid tomato juice from the refrigerator and poured it all over everything. All total my loss was about $16,000. my insurance covered about half of that. I guess you could say I'm pretty much over it but, every time I think of the photos I lost it really hurts.

Well I ramble, I don't mean to be a downer. I count my blessings and I'm grateful for the good things that have come from it!
Cheers

Oh damn...I'm very sorry to hear that, you must have been in quite a shock. Hope such won't occur again, and hope it won't to anyone.

Anyway, let's share the happy moments here, and post some shots again I'll be back here in a day or two with a few of my latest attempts.

Take care.
