I like this shot, it does have a very interesting attraction about it. The dof is just right for the mood it sets.

If I venture to guess it was the d5mkII with the ef 100mm 2.8L macro. Shooting around 2.8-3.5 base on the dof results.

Great work, Torgny!

This photo has a beautiful balance, peaceful light / dark amount, as well as the striking featurs of the yellow with the white on individual petals. (aspects like that really make me love a flower).

Your use of depth of field (and focussing on the tips of the nearest petals, which have those small darker points) increases the quality.

Furthermore, the fact that the outermost petals (to the side) is the point where the slightly lighter / darker background changes, also gives a pleasing balance.

The 2nd version (increased contrast / saturation) looks good on my internet monitor (I've got to calibrate the monitor on my other PC which is larger / brighter, but not attached to internet).

Please keep sharing such 'beauties'.
