Ladies and gentlemen,

Thank you for your words. Not easy, for me anyhow, macro with a macro lens, even with stabilization; much, much easier with macro function on cameras with small sensors

Practice makes .... well .... better, perhaps

Thank you. Very encouraging

BTW Those flies are also called Fruit flies, I think. Everywhere in nature there are alcohol processing going on this time of the year. Insects do get small amounts of "nature's own wine" when eating. Makes them slower and more cooperative.

This one's got unsteady legs, it seems

Nice series of photos, Torgny!

Is photo 2, a more saturated / contrasty version of photo 1 (and tighter crop)? It seems too close to be a different photo(all details / proportions the same)?

They both have great detail - maybe photo 2 a bit too saturated. I like the composition.

Also photo 3 is a good perspective (back on).

I remember seeing these in Europe, e.g. Romania, England (there seem more there than here in South Australia, only very few here). But I also believe when I was a child in Tasmania there were some there. Maybe they like / need more moisture.

I know what you mean about the natural wine / alcohol, they do get somewhat 'affected' by the fruit sugars! (but at times it can also lead them to be disoriented and get aggressive too... seriously!)

Cheers

Paul

Paul,

I really appreciate your precise analysis. Yes, the second looks a bit oversaturated, don't remember why, though

"I know what you mean about the natural wine / alcohol, they do get somewhat 'affected' by the fruit sugars! (but at times it can also lead them to be disoriented and get aggressive too... seriously!"

Yes, you're right. Like amongst people some react to alcohol with aggression. People have free choice and the AAA. The insects though are perhaps not responsible for getting "soft drinks" involuntarily. John Cleese is here. His humour contaminates(?), influences many aroundTorgny
