Default Frost

I was out the other morning when it was really cold and took a few shots. I don't take a lot of close-ups, but liked this one. I think I may like the idea more than the actual photo. What do you guys think? What could I do differently to get a better photo?
I used my D5000 and 70-300mm lens.
Thanks,
Soup

Interesting crystal design, it shows creativity on your part. Thanks for sharing, Frank

Here is a slightly different perspective on the subject . It is actually a 40 foot high net around a driving range at a golf course. The entire thing had the same 1/2 inch of frost on it that morning. The shots were taken first thing in the morning after the sun was up, but before the sun melted the frost.
The picture in the original post was taken with my Nikkor 70-300mm on my D5000. The same for the similar picture in this post with a different color background. The others were taken with my Nikkor 18-55mm. All shots were hand held because I didn't have my tripod with me. If I am going to shoot more macro, I guess I am going to have to start bringing that with me more often.
Thanks for taking a look and making comments. I am really trying to learn.

Well those certainly turned out well! Nicely done. I would love to see the effect of a well struck golf ball at the moment of impact into a net like this. I can imagine the cloud of particals that would fly, and if caught at the split second of that impact it would be dramatic!>>> Frank
