Default Can anyone identify this huge spider?

Found this large spider, about2.3 inches across, in our livingroom. I got some shots before we put him out in the garden. He looks mean. Can anyone identify him?

Possibly a trapdoor or funnel web spider?
Hard to ID by that picture.

I think it's a wolf spider. Note it's habitat is throughout the US although it's called a carolina wolf spider...

or, I would call it the "get it out of my house, now" spider.

Clint is on the right track. Trapdoor Spiders, Funnel Spiders, and Tarantulas are all closely related, so this one possibly could be any of those, perhaps flooded out of its burrow by the recent rains. This one doesn't look in particularly good shape - maybe having recently shed its "skin", (or being about to).

Thank you. I looked up tarantulas and it looks just like this one. I do hope he has no relatives living in our house. We did a search but not too thorough.

Sure can Caryl, That there is Victor, married to Bonnie from the front porch clan......

Looks like our common wolf spider here in Kansas, we get them a lot during the summer, always see some in the pool, (drowned as they are not good swimmers aparently),when I clean it every day. Small though, so as was said could be a trap spider, usually "trap"spiders don't venture out of their burrows too often, but chances are they are not poison at all. By the way, thanks for turning it loose...Frank

A wolf spider, not a tarantula or trapdoor spider.
