Nice colors and textures. I'd suggest trying to brighten up the butterfly in post processing - I think he's a bit underexposed.

A handsome butterfly. Where was this taken? I don't know what this is - I can't match it exactly in any of my books - if this is North American (not an exotic taken in a butterfly house), it has the eyespot pattern of a Satyr - one of the Pearly-eyes or Browns - and may be a variant not illustrated widely.

The eyespots are right, but not the rest of it. The OP can enter it into the Bugguide and maybe someone there can ID it.

Not sure of this species - a really nice photo though.

Where was it taken - this might help narrow it down to species more readily...
