Default Starting a Petting Zoo

I think I need to start a petting zoo or game ranch. The deer are laying all over the place. The 2 "twins" are laying in the money grass 5 feet from my front door and as I type this there are 3 does sleeping in the backyard. No wonder we have to get "deer resistant" plants.

G'day Clint

Nice to see such pleasant images of your "pets"
At the moment I am travelling thru eastern Australia - doing my annual 6000km pilgrimage running photo workshops in outback towns
I am amazed at the number of farmers who report feral deer running around their back paddocks - all go the same way as the feral pigs

200yrs ago the Brits brought out rabbits + deer + pigs + untold birds as part of their "acclimatization society" stuff, and now the country is riddled with these ferals that do millions of dollars of damage to crops & farming ... poor bloody farmers have a hell of a life trying to get rid of 'em all

Regards, Phil

Because so many people have moved into the the area it's caused the deer to "come out of the woods". When I moved out here 30 years ago you hardly saw a deer because they had lots of habitat to run around in. Maybe I should open a John Deer dealership. Or for the does that leave the bucks I could open a Deer John rehab facility.

Lucky you, they are the most adorable creatures and fortunate you don't shoo them away.

I love it when people fawn over my jokes.

I vote for a petting zoo rather than a game ranch...

I feel yer pain Clint, I've taken to refering to them as 'the tree killers' instead of deer. They've eaten every non-native tree i had this year because of our terrible drought. I bellyache to my wife about it but it's worth it cause they are so dang cute!
