Default Woven Light

Up early to capture the sunset ........ which did not turn out as planned. So I took advantage of the morning and ended up in a misty, spider filled swamp. To make it that little bit more exciting it just happened to be surround by an electric fence, but being the intrepid amateur that I am this hurdle failed to put me off getting into the field.

Practised with the "nifty fifty" and came up with these. Photos have been cropped.

Diane, these are such amazing images I'm trying to figure out how you did it. Are these spider webs using long exposure and you moved the camera?? Or am I totally off?

Wow, just wow! Thanks for sharing. You've really created some beautiful images that are more art than photograph. #3 is definately my favorite, the lines create a pleasant motion and the colors are beautiful.

Hi Saly & Bil, thanks so much for your fab feedback, really pleased you liked the shots.

Whilst wandering round I noticed a spider web that had strands of glowing blue and copper gold light, so I just tried to focus on this part of the web and take the shot. All that is needed is the light and being in the right place at the right time. I got in as close as poss, focus allowing and snapped away.

The shots were taken just after 9.30am. Settings:-
1/25, 1/20 sec (last on in 2nd series 1/15), all at F.8 and ISO 100 with spot metering, hand held.

A few more........
