Default Ouch!! My Lip!!!

While bicycling on Jekyll Island my wife and I came across this 2 foot black snake. It was missing part of it lower jaw.

It looks like it was broken and folded back on it self.

Wow, poor guy. But he looks reasonably healthy so he must be getting along OK. Wild creatures always amaze me with their ability to overcome adversity (without any help from doctors!!!)

Poor snake. I am planning a trip to Jekyll Island and plan to bike around, maybe I will see him.

He was in a bush on the bike path which goes through the marsh on the north end of the island. On the west side bike path a 4 foot alligator crossed in front of us. We go to Jekyll a lot and love bicycling there.
