Default Spotted sun orchids

Spotted sun orchids [Thelymitra ixiodes] are between about 1 - 3 cms across.

Taken on the walks around Native Dog camping area last Sunday.

Really dainty little blooms.

Absolutely stunning shots Bernice. I love native orchids and managed to find some in our local bush during the wildflower season. I have yet to see a spotted sun orchid in the flesh. Thanks for sharing.

Although I live in South Australia, but I found some of these native orchids too, while on a trip through West Australia.

Thank you very much for your comments banksy, jj, Griddi, saly & loren. This is the first time we've found these orchids. We're gradually learning when to be at which National Park to uncover the treasures they hold.

Griddi, I'm from south Australia too — Port Noarlunga. Where are you?
