Those things are everywhere...my wife thought they were Mosquitoes...lol...thank the Good Lord they aren't!

Great shots Clint excellent details and these guys are hard to shoot for sure!

You're right - I'm glad they don't bite! They are sometimes called mosquito hawks but they don't eat mosquitoes. I think at the "adult" stage all they do is eat, mate and die. The grubs or larva are bad for lawns.

It's body is about 1 inch long but if you measure from from feet to the back feet it's close to 3 inches.
