Default Turtle Days

It's been a great 2 days for turtles. I saw a box turtle "swimming" in my pond so I thought I'd better help get him out. Not sure if it's a male or female but it certainly had some nice colors. Then today I found a baby snapping turtle in a drainage ditch about the size of a 50 cent piece. It's cute as a baby but they can sure eat the fish if they get in your pond.

The grand kids will have a new pet for a while, then he'll get relocated before he bites off their fingers.

I really like the dime sized one, doesn't look like a gator snapper but he does have the tail for one. The box turtle shots are great with the DOF and I like the eye.

Nice shots Clint. I had a box turtle for a pet for a short time when I was a kid. He loved to eat watermelon.

It's a cute little guy - can't be to long from coming out of the egg.

Watermelon - that's neat.

That second closeup of the box turtle is excellent. And the snapper is just so cute!!! I'm glad you put the dime next to him, wow he's really tiny!

Thanks Saly - the little snapper has a new home with my grand kids. Their mom has built him a nice habitat so I don't think he'll be relocated any time soon. The box turtle was very patient with me. It let me get up real close with him going back into it's shell.
