Default Wild Purple

I had noticed these wild flowers growing by the roadside and then spied these ones down by the river - so I had to have a go. All advice welcome.

Lovely photos of what looks like our Columbine. Western USA has purple/blue species. Here in the eastern US ours are red & yellow.

Very nice lighting and composition on each of these, and effective use of DOF.

That bit of sky looks a little distracting on #1, but it may just be my monitor - it tends towards too much contrast...

Hi Ya Mole - thanks for the comments, and for the flower name - I have no idea what it is. Did not think about the sky distraction in the first shot, I might try a crop and see how it works out. Thanks once again, D
