This first one is untouched, other than a resize. I wish I could have centered it a touch better, it was a windy day. I really like how you can see the water in the bottom of the bloom, it had rained a couple hours before.

This second one, to me, looks like it's in 3-D or something, but I'm not real sure how I did it or what I did to make it that way. It's obviously something in the DOF making it that way. The whole photo is a little soft, but I thought the effect was very cool.

whoa....that second one is weird!! i like the rainbow-ish thing going on on the grass at the top left!

i like the water down the bottom too

did you use a tripod for these?

your DOF seems to work in these...but you might want to use a tripod whenever possible.....it frees two hands to hold the flower still if you need to and you can get a good DOF with a tripod..

keep shooting! (and posting)

I didn't use my tripod on this flower, because it's in the middle of a really dense bed of flowers, and I had a hard enough time leaning in close enough to get the first picture as it was. My mom would've had my head if I'd broken something off in her flowerbed!

The second one I took from a couple feet back, just on the outer edge of the flower bed. I'm still not sure what the heck I did to make it look that way, but it is a cool effect, even if an accident....
