This little guy was real patient with me, I took 5 or 6 shots of him before he took off. I wish the highlights of the flower weren't blown out, but this was taken in mid-day sun, so considering that, I guess it could be worse.

Wow a great shot, he looks friendly.We dont have bumble bees in australia, I have always been fascinated by them. How big do they grow?

Thanks for the kind remarks! This particular bee was about the size of a honey bee, almost 1/2 inch long.... not really a big bee. I have seen them get to an inch or a little larger, though, in length, and probably 1/2 inch diameter, which can be a pretty intimidating bee at that size!
