My first macro with this camera. Untouched, unmodified.

Some very nice results here guys. I especially like the ladybug. This looks great. Though I have heard about the close-ups, I haven't really read much about them as of yet. I do have a few questions on the subject, if you don't mind.

What is the advantage of a close-up filter? I've gotten some pretty good results using just the standard 6490 lens. When I'm feeling, really adventurous, I've tried macro shots with the tcon17 (a trick I picked up from someone here) or even with the 0.7 wide-angle. You can get some really interesting results if you zoom inwith the wide angle. I realize that this must be a particularly stupid question, but I'm trying to decide if I actually need another filter in my bag right now.

Are the stacked filters difficult to focus? (does the #@% autofocus interfere much?) How close do you have to be to your subject? Lots of questions, I know...

One more... What brand of filters?

Regards,

Tom, on Point Pelee, Canada
