This bug was on my speedometer, I pushed my camera with uv filter on the sunshade right up to the bug and used a stopped down flash which lighted everything outside of the circle of the sunshade and blacked inside. I thought it was kind of cool.

F*cking AMAZING. That, my friend, is a male Crane Fly. People think that they're massive mosqitoes, but they're not. The females look far more intimidating than the males.

As a side note, two little things below the wings are called balancers. They aid in flight.

Harmless insects.
