Why do you need a macro lens??? your sigma lens do a great job......

BTW, do you have a gallery onlinewith some shots taken with your D70 + sigma 24-300mm,??? Im interested in buying this lens + Pentax Isdt S, but Im not sure if this lens works fine, though according to your pic, it seems that this lens performs very very well.

Thanks,

Sure, nothing formal or "artsy" - just some basic snapshots taken around my neighborhood. These images will show you its strengths and weaknesses.

Overall, it isadecent $275. lens, but don't expect the performance of a $1,500. lens.

Sigma lenses are the best bang for the buck for DSLR's!
For macros- the Sigma 105 is supposed to be the HOT ticket.

Thanks for sharing your gallery and for your prompt answer.....actually I dont expect the performance of a $1,500 lens.....I just wanna a lens that do a decent work, your gallery helps me to make a decision and I see this lens is very capable, so It's quite probably Igo forthe pentax Isdt S the next month....I hope steves, dpreview, dcresource and Imaging-resourcefinish the review of this camera before.

BTW, nice gallery...like most the seagull close-up....great detail of its eye.

You're welcome. I'm a firm believer in the quality of Nikonoptics, butI need a couple of lightweight, inexpensive lenses to take mountain biking, hikingand kayaking.I've been trying out some really low cost lenses to take to places that I won't risk my expensive glass. Yes, you can can decent images under the right conditions - but they simply don't stack up against the real thing.

Here is one froma verylow cost Nikon 70-300ED f4.5-f5.6. I blew the highlights and it's heavily cropped, but it does a decent job for under $300.

Hi Mkurth,

Handsome spider, and I love the close up of the gull. I've never seen one that close before.Fascinating .... Must check bird book for holes in beaks....

Is the spider on its web, with a sheet of paper placed below?

The holes are the bird's nostrils. The beak is a nose and a mouth in one.

Of course, I dunno if you already knew that and you wanted your book for ID purposes or something.
