There aren't many things that photograph better in strong sunlight, but this appears to be one of them: it's something to do on sunny days anyway :G

The female of this damselfy species look kind of "twig colored" and uninteresting in shady light, but in strong sunlight they shine almost golden in color:

However the males are even better: in flight those blue wings are just fantastic, at rest it's hard to get a really good picture as the wings become so dark when folded together: but here's my best so far,

Lovely set of photos, John! Job well done, to capture in brilliant sunlight - thus showing details of these amazing creatures.



Quite different looking to the other damselflies from our other posts...
