seemolf, is that the real color of the grasshopper at wedding time??? wow, that is one beauty!!! as for your golden bug pics, they are all pretty nice. the grasshopper is not bad but, i think it should be from a front view, not the rear. but, we gotta take what is given us. some of the bug pictures are a bit racey for me. doin the deed is a personal and private thing!!! shame on you!!!:blah::blah::blah: what kind of bug is it? there is one shot from above (i think) that really shows the colors brilliantly. keep up the good work!!!

well djb,

if you like these hoppers, here is more:
http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=23
But I had no choice, they did not stay for long in my outdoors studio...
The golden bug is: Chrysolina fastuosa
I have not seen the full colours of this bug in the www.
But my second flash revealed this jewel!

If you need more pictures, try this one:
http://www.koleopterologie.de/galler...9B/fhl09b.html

And I (!) am allowed to watch these private moments, I have studied biology.
All those others out there should activate their family filters at steves forum.

thanks dennis,
sven

seemolf,

I've just managed to get hold of a A-Life size Macro lens! Thank you for giving me the idea of looking them up on the net.

Now with this one combined with my 500d should provide some excellent closeups

and as dennis requested:
the front (the back is still best)

These are the real colours!
I revisited these hoppers because I started to doubt the results after dennis´s questions.
