I'm a novice too, but I like to experiment, and being able to have part of the foreground out of focus as well as the background, is one of the effects I particularly like (no matter how amateurish it may look!).

I like the picture.

What camera did you use?

jonny

I do like that camera! Nice and small, big screen, but one major problem...

I teach IT related adult education, and one of my lessons concerns digital camera. We cover the real basics like what the different flash modes are, the various mode settings (macro, portrait, landscape, etc), and how to connect the camera to a PC to download images.

The Pentax is the only make that refuses to connect without me having administrative rights. It tried to install something that WinXP doesn't like. Weird.

On my last course I had one S5 and one S5i, and they both behaved in the same way.

Still, with a card reader we got there in the end! And the photos were incredible. If I could afford one I would be tempted.

Can you post some more pictures? Nothing fancy, just your standard photos.

Thanks,

Jonny

Nice trees. Very Nice.

The grass looks very grren. You'd never guess it's the bleak mid winter. That's England for you!

Jonny.

The trees are very pixelated. Seems like you used a digital zoom or something.

the original image is of better quality, the way it has been compressed has made it pixelated
