Took this the same morning..it looked metallic gold...wish I could have captured it abit better.

That looks like a damselfly also. Easiest way to tell the difference usually is that damselfly when they are stopped their wings are swept back. Dragonfly have their wings spread out when they are not flying.

When my mom was in university she studied and collected insects so I got to know a lot of them. She also has a large collection of Audubon manuals with lovely color photos of most insects in North America.
