I just bought a new Canon S2 IS... the morning it came I went out back and grabbed a few shots at my backyard pond...

This is the first attemp with a water lilly(or anything digital)and some minor PhotoShop(somelighting effects and sharpening)tactics.

This is a small verion, the original is 8.5"X11" 300dpi.

what do you all think?

I think it is a great first shot. The detail on the flowers with the little fuzz showing is very cool. I am not sure I like the lighting effects. Think maybe a little less light in the middle and fading more gently to the edges may work better... i.e. the edges are too dark for my taste. However, WELCOME and we look forward to seeing more of your photography.

Thanks!

I know what you mean on the edges... it is a bit dark.
The original was in broad daylight, so I might have gone overboard...lol!!!

But, it is my first attemp at this stuff, so... live and learn
