Default Question about toner & drum life

Hello all..., I have some question about laser printer toner and drum life.

Toner.
If 4000 page A4 size at 5% coverage, is it 8000 page for A5 size at 5% coverage?

Drum life.
If 40,000 page A4 size at 5% coverage(black) and 10,000 page A4 size at 5% coverage(color), is it 40,000 page A4 size at 5% coverage for 1 color only(cyan only or magenta only or yellow only)?

And if 40,000 page A4 size at 5% coverage(black), is it 80,000 page for A5 size at 5% coverage(black)?

Apologize for my bad English

Thx

Mathematically yes.

However, I would say that you would print a lot more than 5% coverage (each colour) if you are into photo printing.

It depends on your printer. To best of my knowledge, the lifespan of most drums (or photoconductors) are calculated by pages or jobs. It does not really matter how big the coverage is for each page. In some printers, if you print 100 pages in one go, the drum life will last longer then printing 100 pages one at a time.

Some laser printers have different drums for each colour (which means you count each drum differently); Most newer laser printers now have a single drum, so if you print 40,000 pages in black and 10,000 pages in one colour, it will simply count as 50,000 pages.

(To save your drum's lifespan, you can print two A5s on one sheet of A4. Then cut it of course.)

Yes.
However, it uses more drum's lifespan, as well as belt (on come models).

Hope this helps.
