Can the same equipment be used to take moonshots??
I mean, e.g. if I would have one of those Nikon Fieldscopes and use it for both purposes..... Has anyone tried it before/already?? Please post some pics of setup and shots taken. Thanks in advance for all the replies, |

Essentially yes. Depending on the scope and camera. With fixed lens zoom shooting afocal (through eyepiece of scope) you can have framing control. With a dSLR the scope becomes the only lens and you are subject to the native focal length plus crop factor if any.

Lin, That top image is fantastic for only a 90mm telescope. Excellent work. Here is one I took through a 125mm diahomebuilt telescope using and a Rebel XT without an eyepiece. Kinda blew the highlights, but still decent topost.
