I work for the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) in Portland, Maine, and have been trying to find a web cam to use for our educational programs. It needs to meet the following criteria:

-Windows compliant (Uses words like WDM, DirectX, DirectShow)
-AT LEAST 30 TRUE fps (frames per second). Read "up to 30fps" as 15fps.
-MINIMUM resolution of 640x480 pixels
-Works in low light (ideally <5 lux)
-Auto-focus
-Ideally wide angle
-Ideally round form factor, but we may have to consider alternatives

Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

It may be that you will need to use a surveillance type camera with a video card with camera input.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Have you tried searching places like Newegg and Tiger Direct? They carry a fairly comprehensive range. I ran across style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&CatId=130 It seems to have most of your requirements.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Sounds like an interesting project. Wish you luck.
