Default Coolpix 5700

It appears that the Coolpix 5700 uses the UR-E8
to connect to a scope.

The problem that I see is that the UR-E8 attaches
to the outside part of the lens and extends
beyond the lens (threading). This means that you must use
the optical zoom to have the lens extend out
to almost as far as the UR-E8 extends

The reason the lens will need to extend out as
far as the UR-E8 is to prevent vignetting.

The only possibility, in my opinion, is to have an
adapter that connects to the outside threading
but doesn't extend outward. This means that the
you would not be able to use the optical zoom,
but it ensures that the lens is close to the lens
of the scope.

The optical zoom may not be useful anyway, because
if you use a spotting scope that has a 20-60X, set
at the lowest setting (20X)and you are using the 8x optical zoom, then
you will be getting an 160X optical zoom.

We already tried this and we couldn't focus on anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
