Default QV3500 + CrystalVue 8x32

Just bought CrystalVue tele lens. It vignettes with QV3500 a lot but anyway still better to have been able to shoot the bird than only watch him from the distance (IMHO).

The picture was croped to 1600x1200 (vignetting still visible) resized to 800x600 and compresed.

With 1600x1200 I am at the level of 2MP camera.

Nice shot of Turdus pilaris English name 'Fieldfare'....They will be here soon, when it gets a bit colder. The Crystalvue is definitely a useful and lightweight teleconverter, almost pocket-sized.

Thanks Andy,

This is my first bird. Just before reading your reply I came back from a book store (bought three books about birds!!!). My bet was it was Turdus pilaris (polish name: Kwiczol ;-) ). But I was not sure if I was right. Now I am sure. Maybe you can shoot this very bird in the UK when it gets colder?
Here is my second bird (but stil on the first tree). There is no similiar bird in any of my 3 books. Can you recognize the bird?

Hi Togal,
The mystery bird looks like Sturnus vulgaris 'European Starling'....it has lost all it's head feathers and is probably close to death
I took plenty of 'Kwiczol' photos last Winter, they often form large groups with Turdus iliacus .....I am hoping to get some photos of these this Winter.
Here is a 'Kwiczcol' from last year.
Best regards,
Andy B,
London

I don't think you can show your photos in the post when you have them on Pbase....you really need your own website or a host-site that allows it, most photo album sites don't allow it anymore as it uses up their bandwidth. There's no problem with the link though.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for identifying my bird. And again, your "Kwiczol" looks great!

Just one more picture with this setup. Nothing spectacular but I love my CV 8x32. I wish it was 16x64!!! (with the same price !)
