Hi all,

I am just about to buy a new digital camera for digiscoping. I've used the Nikon CP series before. As I will be travelling a lot, the smalller Contax SL300R T* sounds interesting.

I've seen some promising reviews of this camera for digiscoping at various places, all from several months ago. Surely, there are more experiences by now... Anyone?

Thanks!

This camera makes digiscoping almost easy!

I bought one after reading Andy Bright's review in
http://www.digiscoped.com

I use mine with an old TSN-2 Kowa scope (non-ED, non-fluorite) and an equally old Davis & Sanford tripod. I attach the camera to the scope using Kowa's TS-DA1 adapter. I leave the little plastic adapter that comes with camera attached to the TS-DA1. When out birding I leave the TS-DA1 on the scope and when I want to take a photo I lock the camera into its plastic adapter, very fast and easy to do.

My firtst attempts can be seen at

Here is an example, a 15 cm bird at about 13 m from the camera:

Be sure to make up your mind quickly. Kyocera (maker of Contax cameras) has announced it's pulling out of the digital camera market.
