Has anybody out there tried to hook up the 7000 to a Telescope?

I used to do that with a Nikon 885,but am running into some serious vignetting issues.

Need some feedback.

If you don't need the 12MP, use the 3MP setting and zoom in. I haven't used a telescope but with a small reverse macro lense it works great. Of course you don't get all the details you would for cropping a 12MP image but it may be all you need.

Hi Host, Thanks for your promt reply.

I bought the 7000 because I was looking to improve the quality of pics I took with the Nikon.Unfortunately, the same setup does'nt work with the telescope I have.

Here is a picture of the moon I took using the Nikon.

Thanks again, and keep in touch if you hear anything.

I haven't done this, but I've been thinking about doing it. If you get good results, I'd love to know what you end up doing to achieve them.

I've been looking into doing this myself, you'll have to buy a new adapter for the S7000, since each camera is different. Depending on the system you use the $40 adapter for the S7000 may be all you need to get. http://www.digitalastronomy.com/html...ope_.asp#S7000

Thanks,Chaos,

Those websites you provided was just what I was looking for.

I will keep you updated on my progress and hopefully have some pictures to publish sometime soon.

Here is a picture of Jupiter and its moons taken last year with Nikon 885 and a 5" refractor.

I am hoping for better shots with the S7000.

Last night I pointed my 127mm refractor on the moon using a wide angle 40mm Pentax eyepiece, hand-held the S7000 to the eyepiece, and got this amazing shot.

I used U-Lead photo Express to enhance the image about 10%.
