Taken with a Nikon D300 handheld at 1/400 and f8. For some reason i seem to do better handhel than with the tripod. However, I am getting a cable release and that should make a difference. I shot the moon a few hours ago. I live near SFO airport.

PS I cheated! Could not resist adding the plane.

Good shot of the Moon, not to sure about the 747 in the picture. The plane looks to be added, nice effect though.

As for shooting on a tripod, don't forget to turn the Image Stabilization off and use the self timer on the camera until you get a cable release.

I agree, 99.9% certain this is 'faked' as I can't see any way the plane could be anything but silhouetted at these exposure settings unless it was taken in daylight, also seems to be areas where the moon can be seen through the nose of the plane.

The moon is fine, but I would put this in the Digital Art section and make people aware that it's been modified so they are not confused wondering how they might get such a shot.

CAUGHT! I know i should have made it all a silhouette, but I really liked the gree on the plane. I do not know how to relocated it to digital art.

I wouldn't worry about moving it, but would make views aware when we are not looking a genuine shot.......... then we pose the question of what is genuine and how much editing should be done.

I dont see any problems with this picture. There could hardly be deception involved since its so badly done as observed by Mark. It hardly qualifies as digital art but I guess you have to shove it someplace.

I like the shot..quite a bit. It has a whimsical quality to it....almost from the 1930's (although we know the plane is more modern).

I don't think it's badly done...it has a charm to it.

It has been changed from the version we were talking about, The original was in colour rather than silhouette. Also there was a gap in the nose of the '47 letting us see the moon through it.

This modification does look a lot more realistic.

Since the pic has been realtered it does look a bit more natural. However, the plane size is not right. For the moon to be that much of a zoom the plane should be bigger. Also the pixelation all around the edge doesnt help much. Im betting this was just a fun thing to do without the attempt to deceive.
