What a bummer. You have duplicated Dave Hill's style almost exactly. Now when you show people, they will say.....Hey looks just like a Dave Hill. I guess the trick is to come up with a style that when people see it will say.....Hey looks just like a Longside.

I like Hills style very much and you have done a great job on your Pop's picture. I only called my father Pop. Wish I could call him now. Thanks Longside. Job well done.

I do not know Dave Hill but your photo is beautiful. The textures are lush and the color rich.

Hi Bynx, I do undertand where you're coming from and to a certain extent I agree. However, I really like the Dave Hill style and have therefore tried to incorporate it into my workflow. in going for the DH look I have had to spend an incredible amount of time and resources into off camera flash, and developing my PS skills. to this extent, striving for teh Dave Hill look has improved my photography no end....which can only be a good thing, and will help me to develop my own style.

I do get your drift though!.........

Hey Caryl, I'm very flattered you like my shot. If your curious about the Dave Hill look, there is a link to his site in my first post....

Longside, I, maybe more than most, can appreciate what you have done to imitate Dave Hills style. I really like what you have come up with and am looking forward to seeing more. I know my way around Photoshop, but trying to fathom what you have done to create this unique look. Every aspect of the photo is just superb, from the background, to your dad, to the car itself. Maybe one day you will share what you did. Thanks again. And by the way, I wasnt knocking what you did one bit. If it wasnt for Dave Hill, you would have a very unique style you could truly call your own. Im trying to understand what Im looking at every time I look at the picture. Everything is so clean and pristine even the rough road. Aside from Photoshop what equipment have you used?
