Last night while I was shooting the sky, I heard a movement and a deep growl like roar very near. I was right near the dorr and i went flying inside and slammed the door shut. So much for night shooting outside. I had heard there were mountain lions in the area but I did not want to see one. This one was within 10 feet of me and I was lucky to get inside. This is a painting of our yard with a real lion in it.

Great picture and quite an adventure...looks like quite a backyard you have. How did you do the picture...the colour, light and tone are fabulous.

What a great rendition of your yard with the lion! It must be so exciting to see a lion in your yard but please do be careful! I have had bears in my yard and that's scarey enough for me...can't imagine a lion! We do have cougars around here but I've yet to see one......

I have no intention of EVER going out back in the dark again. This was enough excitement for my lifetime.
