Default My First Caricature

Hi everyone!
I've always wanted to try doing a caricature and then paint it. This is my first try...it's not very good but I'm sure as with everything, practise makes perfect!

This is a cute cartoon. To demonstrate a "caricature" we have to know what the real person looks like...

(If this is some celebrity, I'm a hermit, and don't follow that stuff)

You have a very deft touch with whatever form of mouse you use. I assume you use a tablet - Wacom or some other brand. I have a Genius and have trouble using it over the mouse but then, Im not doing fine art.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

CHATO~I could post the picture for reference but it's on my puter at home and well, I guess I'm not home...LOL...anyways, I'll post it when I get home....

BYNX~I do use a Wacom Intuos 3 and I also have a Cintiq that I use on my puter at home. The Intuos is more portable and I can take it with me along with my laptop.

WALTER~LOL....I don't know who it is! I am working on one of Rhianna (the singer) for the past couple of days, which I'll probably post soon.

Bad Stich Babe, Bad Stitch Babe. Cartoons are a form of art, caricatures are a specialised form, in which the artist brings out the character (as they see it) of the person who is depicted. Can you make a caricature of an imaginary person?

I don't think so...

I await with bated breath (or bad breath, depending on whether I've eaten a lot of garlic) for your caricature of Rihanna.

Heh, he...

I'm not criticising the cartoon, which I've already said is very good. I am merely pointing out, that by definition, it's not a caricature.

Hi Stitch Babe

While the other thread was pulled, I was pretty impressed, and hope you're going to post another one soon.

Thanks Dave...rather disappointing but rules are rules. I'll be busy for the next little while....I have a portrait I'm in the middle of painting and it has to be ready and framed by the 11th so I won't be posting anything for awhile. Take care....
