Default Pencil Sketch

I wanted to use this on our Christmas Cards this year, but settled for the traditional family photo instead. Adapted in PSE 8. The original is also shown below. Nikon D300S with Nikon 12-24 f/4

The shot is very good, sharp and clear with good composition. The B&W looks more like a poor Xerox copy. Doesnt look much like a sketch. I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with.

Bynx: Thanks for the comments (I love that 2-24 f/4 lens).

Loking at the b&w image, I had to laugh at your description of a poor photocopy...so true and I never made the comparison! I like your work on it a whole lot better! I'll have to re-attach the Christmas wreath to the front door though. What did you use to achieve this effect?

I used a sketch plugin by Akvis. There are other filters available which do a much better job.
