They say that imitation is the greatest compliment. Well, I have a decent shot of spring crocuses that would lend itself well to your technique. Do you remember what filters you used? Whenever I come up with a winner in digital manipulation, I can't remember how on earth I did it. Please don't tell me you're like this too! I'm sure you used texture, but I can only guess about anything else.

"B", there were so many steps & I kept shifting transparancy & then I lost my mind!!!!!!!!!
Most of what you are seeing is sandstone texturizing but I also created a "sketch" layer somewhere--- I may even have selected / cut out the white of the sketch & used the dark lines alone ops: I'm so confused
Has someone seen my memory anywhere--- I seem to have lost it--- or was it my mind :?:

The larger version doesn't look as delicate-- reminds me of some sort of bead or sand painting

That's okay, John. I do the same sort of thing. We go into "play mode," noodling around until we suddenly exclaim what geniuses we are. Then some annoying person comes along and says, "Yes, but how did you DO that?"

In the meantime, I played around with my crocuses and came up with something similar to what you did, but then I played with it some more, and then I lost the nice effects I'd accomplished, and then the phone rang, and out of habit I saved what I was working on and went out of Photoshop...

Now that I can look more closely at your picture, I see the sandstone texture, and you certainly simplified the forms with one or more filters. The rest of what you did will have to remain a mystery just like the Missing Link.

This middle-aged business ain't all it's cracked up to be.
