Default Amaryllis x-ray

My husband used to run the x-ray department in a hospital, and as soon as I showed him this picture, he wanted to know how the heck I'd gotten my hands on an x-ray machine. So I told him that I used a gradient map in black, reversed it, burned in a few areas to delineate the petals, sharpened it, then framed it. Maybe next time I can do a gall bladder.

Barbara, I don't want to praise you too much here, since I know where that can lead. I must say you have created quite a thing of beauty here though. You're photoshop skills are bringing out the envy in me. I have a challenge for you though. When you do that gall bladder, make it all colorful like a flower.

Thank you, Jack. I'm really glad you kept a lid on it since I currently have no appetite for worms.

Next, one very colorful gall bladder. Donations accepted.

Thanks, guys. This was something I simply tripped into. I had the flower sitting on my screen and was thinking how it's a really nice flower but also a very boring one. So I started to play. I found the gradient map command, wondered why I'd never noticed it before, then went exploring. I still haven't figured out what the gradient map is all about. I mean, I see its results, but what was it really meant to accomplish? Another of life's mysteries.
