Default Individuality

This picture kind of goes with the theme of those posters you see with captions like "Success" and "Teamwork". It's pretty cheesy, but it works.

I might go back and take this picture again so that I can get the screw farther into the frame. I wasn't paying attention to it at the time, but I wish it was possible to put the screw on the bottom left third of the picture. Ah well, posted anyway.

What do you think?

I like your picture. Everyone's tried the colour popping trick, but usually it doesn't suit the theme. Here it does, as the nails have great texture, and the colouring of the screw is simpmle anyway.

I always laugh about 'the rule of thirds'. I always hear that phrase not as 'a rule about thirds' but 'the RULE of thirds' like 'they rule the world'. Don't worry about it, I like the positioning.

One thing that might be interesting, may not be, would be to go wider and see more nails, if there were any more.

Fantastic work JD!

It's very Good Jarodefer.

It immediatly reminded me of "Hot Bolt"

a shot of one of my favourite Photographers : Brian Peterson.

With respect to Hot Bolt there is also the shape difference.

Note that the original "Hot Bolt" composition is different from the one showed in the web site, which is a cropped version.

Well, rule of thirds is a rule of thumb , not a dictat !
However I think the shot would gain much more strenght if the rule of thirds was applied.

Ok, I played around a little more and moved the screw to a different location. I think it works a lot better in this version.

niice shot!! really cool effect....in the second one though...the top of the bolt seems to be split in half...one in color and one not....unless i'm seeing another nail on top...

good job

this "color-on-black-and-white" shot really works....

Yeah, that's another spike on top of it.

Looks like the title of the second one should be "Drowned Individuality"

I like the first one personaly. The screw is in an awkward position and says more then if it is in a pleasing to the eye position.
