Default first attempt - dj toddler

Hey guys,
Just found this forum and I hafta say I'm impressed! I was after some feedback on my first attempt at combining two pictures. I turned my nephew into a DJ... Let me know what ya think... Any tips on what I could do to make this better or what I could do on my next try would be great!

I still wouldn't mind trying to fix 'em though... Any ideas?

Thanks for the feedback guys either way! I think I'm gonna become a regular around here... Only problem for the moment is I got my bag stolen yesterday (containing my only camera!) I'll replace it soon!

oh man!!! that is terrible!!

here are some things you can try....try to add some noise to the kid.....cuz it makes him stick out from the rest of the shot.

the wire looks a little pixelly hangin from his neck....(down lower)

and his finger can use some work...not exactly sure wat you can do....because it just doesn't look "right" it is hard to explain.....

well...other than those....it looks good

btw.....did he have the headphones on already? cuz if not....that is some amazing work there!

Thanks for the suggestions... I tried adding some noise when I did it but I found it hard to get it right. Now that I know I was on the right track I might retry that...

I did notice the pixelly bit but couldn't figure out how to fix that

Might try smudging the edges of the finger a bit - do ya reckon that would work?

I'd love to say I added the headphones but he already had 'em on... It started with a photo of him playing on my sampler at home and I mixed that with a DJ photo from a club...

So now to find me a new (and far better camera)... Hmm I'm thinking at least 3 MP and 10x Optical zoom... Can't afford anything over 700-800 so I wont be going for the digi-SLR option (plus it would take me two years to learn how to use it!)

You need a reflection of the kid on the record and turntable. Objects reflect color on to each other. Grab a yellow shirt and place it next to objects to see its effect.

Yeah that's a good thought... Hard one to do though - will give it a shot I s'pose. Maybe on the left side of the record he has his hand on? (left-side when looking at the photo)

good job yakadelic forgot about that.....well....didn't even think of it...

you can add that....on the flatter areas.....by taking the layer with him on it and flipping it and lowering the opacity....
